To Do or Not To Do
Have you found yourself wishing to do everything Jewish? Have you been seriously
considering conversion to Judaism? Have you pondered whether or not to eat Kosher?
Are you wondering about celebrating the Jewish Holidays?
I can truly empathize! I absolutely fell in love with G-d's Truth, the Torah! I fell in love with
everything Jewish. I do recall an assistant to the Rabbi I was working with during my
conversion said to me that I don't have to read everything Jewish! It was okay to read
other kinds of books. At that time, I was still in the "I want to know everything" stage.
After five years of studying, reading everything I could, I still was digging into the
Jewish writings, commentaries, and so forth. In 2002, I was intrigued in listening to an
expert in Kabbalah. A whole new world had opened up to me in so many ways and my thirst
for this knowledge was not quenched! The more I read and studied, the more questions
that I had needed to be answered. I was on the biggest quest of my life! A lot of people
who left idolatrous religions have felt the same way, but not all. Some people are fine in
just knowing some basics and that's okay.
No, you don't have to be Jewish! You can still remain a gentile and eat what you have been
eating and doing the same things basically. You observe the 7 Laws of Noah and that's fine.
From what I understand from several Rabbis like Rabbi Singer, you can observe
Shabbat (Sabbath) but not fully. According to other Rabbis, you can have a wonderful
dinner and say some blessings but again, don't fully do Shabbat. I recommend to research
this.
Conversion isn't easy. There is so much involved. A lot of study time, a lot of getting to
know the Jewish community. I want to add here that the Orthodox in Israel, Reform and
Conservative Judaism (sects) do not recognize these conversions. Please also research
this as well. I know of a lady and here husband and their children converted to Reform
Judaism. They somehow managed to fly to Israel and were not let in! They were held and
questioned and they had to turn around and go home. It was a horrible ordeal for them.
Is being a Noahide enough? Does G-d love you any less? Of course not! G-d loves you,
you are His child! Just because you are a Noahide doesn't mean you won't learn anything
or learn anything deeply! Quite the contrary! The doors are open to Noahides in so many
ways! I am seeing more and more opportunities for Noahides to be included in studying
and lectures about Judaism. May I tell you a little something? A lot of Noahides probably
know more then some Jewish folks! No joke!
A Noahide who observes the 7 Laws of Noah are Righteous Gentiles. Be excited about
this way of life! It is a life full of rich understanding! No, you don't have to convert to
Judaism and no being a Noahide is NOT a religion. Again, it's a way of life that G-d
intends for us to live!
